Earlier this week I was able to attend an advanced screening of Ridley Scott's new sci-fi blockbuster Prometheus. The title and trailers implied that I was in for a somewhat compelling journey with a riveting plot set in the not so distant and plausible future. Coupled with impressive visuals encompassing breath taking scenery, aided by my 3D glasses I was taken in by the storyline and engaged by actors Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and Logan Marshall-Green (The O.C.).
The graphics employed were stunning, and there were moments of genuine horror. Perhaps we are dampened to the effects of horror through saturation however that we crave further titillation resulting in apparent dull moments to this movie, albeit it in small quantities. The movie does end with more questions than it answers, leaving room for a sequel, feeling very much like a cop out.
